About the
Trainer
Wendy Chen is a graduate of the prestigious
San
Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers. This
unique institution, run by preeminent trainer and
positive reinforcement trailblazer Jean Donaldson,
draws trainers from all over the world because of
its scientifically grounded curriculum and leading-edge
approach to educating dog trainers. Students are taught,
among other subjects, animal learning theory, canine
behavior and development, obedience and clicker training,
class teaching, behavior modification, critical thinking,
and one-on-one counseling.
Furthermore, Wendy has earned a specialist certificate
in dog-dog aggression, also from the San Francisco
SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers. She’s a professional
member of the Association
of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) which is founded by
Dr. Ian Dunbar who is a world renown behaviorist,
veterinarian, speaker and author. APDT is a professional
organization of trainers who are committed to becoming
better trainers through education.
Wendy is trained in Pet First Aid & Care, and
has years of experience training dogs for shelters
and humane societies, working in doggie daycare,
and teaching public classes.
